What was the Challenge?
The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) actively seeks to connect the lighting community by bringing those with the knowledge and using them to benefit the public. For them, the Lumen West Awards, an annual event that celebrates the outstanding lighting design efforts from IES members, are incredibly important.
When they reached out to AMP for assistance, they were specific with their needs: create a communication plan that could work for the virtual event and include unique email and social media campaigns, complete with graphics.
The AMP Solution?
Create a new design that fits the Lumen West Awards and utilize that for the entire campaign, as well as communication through email and social media that gave the event a fun and unique edge, while working alongside the virtual landscape.
How did we get Here?
- Showcase a variety of designs for the Lumen West Awards and give it a new look.
- An email campaign that contained the following messages: Save the Date, Official Announcement, Final Reminder, Thank You to the attendees, sponsors, and winners.
- To give email marketing another push, signature banners of each sponsor were created, which included their sponsor level, logo, and sign-up button.
- A social media campaign for the IES Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts contained the following: Dave the Date, Official Announcement, and Reminder.
- In addition, each sponsor received their own post with a unique caption and their sponsor level.
The Result?
The Lumen West Awards went off without a hitch on June 26th, 2021, on the official YouTube channel and currently has +1K views.
The event received incredibly positive feedback from guests, sponsors, and showrunners alike; Fitz Fitzgerald spoke of the experience of working with AMP fondly, stating, “AMP provided us the graphics that framed the look of the 2021 Lumen West Awards. They then created and supplied social media assets across multiple platforms for the event and our marketing efforts. AMP then did the same for our 28 sponsors. These efforts allowed us to promote our event like never before and doubled our viewership.”
